Worship on Sundays
On Sundays, there are three different worship services
offered at Holy Trinity: two on Sunday mornings and one
on Sunday evening. Each one has its own style and
ambiance. Each appeals to people in different ways:
- Time of day
- Music or no music
- Small service or large service
- Morning of evening
- Formal or casual
To find which service speaks to you, try all three and
experience the difference!
Sunday Mornings at 8:15 a.m. in the Church
The early Sunday morning service at Holy Trinity - beginning at 8:15 a.m. - is a Rite II Eucharistic service (except in
Lent when we use Rite I). We do not have music at this service. The priest is assisted by a Eucharistic minister,
There are no acolytes. This is a steady and close-knit group who like to arrive early to drink coffee and visit before
the service. Attendance is about 30-40 each Sunday. Childcare is provided.
For a small parish, there are many opportunities for worship at Holy Trinity.
We three services on Sundays and a noon service on Wednesdays. Morning Prayer is said each week on Wednesday
mornings. We offer a Taize service of quiet meditation each quarter. And the seasonal services for Advent,
Christmas, Lent, Holy Week and Easter are creative and inspiring.
Wednesday Healing Service at 12:00 noon
The noon service on Wednesdays is a special time. We begin the service as usual and read an Old Testament,
Psalm and Gospel reading from the lectionary for Lesser Feasts and Fasts. Fr. Cliff then reads the synopsis of the
life of the saint-for-the-day from the Book of Lesser Feasts and Fasts. Following this, we pray the Litany for
Healing. Fr. Cliff then invites those, who desire, to come forward for anointing and healing prayers. After this, we
conclude with the celebration of Holy Eucharist. We have many people who come to this service and find strength
and healing and peace.
Sunday Mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Church
The second Sunday morning service at Holy Trinity - beginning at 10:30 a.m. - is a Rite II Eucharistic service (except
in Lent when we use Rite I). We have an organist and a small choir. The music is traditional Episcopal hymns from
the 1982 Hymnal plus more contemporary hymn (usually during communion) from a group of songs collected over
the years. We process into the church with a Crucifer, torch bearers, two Eucharistic ministers, a subdeacon (2007)
and the priest. Many people attending this service have just come from Christian Education which meets between the
two Sunday morning services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Attendance at this service varies from 80 to 125 each
Sunday. Childcare is provided.
