The Strange and Secret World of Episcopal Vocabulary
If you spend any length of time, at all, in an Episcopal Church, you will soon discover that Episcopalians do not use the same vocabulary that NORMAL people do. Episcopalians are a proud people . . . proud of their many long-held traditions . . . and they like the words they . . . and their mothers and fathers . . . and even their grandmothers and grandfathers . . . used in church. Many of these words are rooted in ancient languages like Hebrew and Greek and Latin. Other words are just different from what we use in every day conversation.
Don't despair. The Episcopalians are just being a little snooty!
